Helping the environment in easy ways
A project of my own I did while volunteering at Devon Wildlife Trust - Seaton Jurassic for 2 weeks.

Seaton Jurassic is a vistor centre being built in Seaton - a seaside town, which will show the story of the Jurassic coast, which runs from Lyme Regis to Exmouth. The theme of the centre is time travel.

MY PROJECT
After walking around the visitor centre and the wildlife garden, people may go back to the cafe and shop with an idea of wanting to help the environment in some way but not know what the best and simple way they can do that.

While in the cafe sipping on a coffee and eating something, people can glance at designed placemats on the tables which will have short poems/phrases/designs/text with simple things parents can do at home. Such as buying a water butt, planting some flowers... Fun, light hearted tone and easy to understand words and how it will benefit them and the world around them.
Cycling to work day - showing adults that occasionally it is lovely to bike to work rather than drive
Cycle to school week/Bike to school week - showing kids that you can experience things much more differently while on a bike
Supporting local farms - for adults to engage in food, farming, eating locally and supporting farms
Where food comes from - for kids to get an idea of where there food comes from
Farm animals and plants - for toddlers to colour in
Wildlife haven - showing adults how to grow a wildflower meadow to increase wildlife
Attracting wildlife in gardens - showing kids about planting, nature, and wildlife
Saving your water bill - showing adults how collecting rainwater using a water butt helps saving your water bill.
Collecting water - for kids - a short song/riddle with the idea of collecting rainwater is a fun thing to do and helps kids get out into the garden
